New Year's Eve Outfit Ideas...

2013 is almost up and new years eve is almost upon us. New years eve being a time for us all to get our party on (or sit home and eat like I normally do!) Also boxing day sales are driving me crazy as I'm seeing all the good bargains and pretty things people are getting on instagram but I've been so unsuccessful!
So I thought I would put together some new year's eve party outfit suggestions mainly made up of sale items (not everything is sale but most is just a lil disclaimer) Obviously you personally know what looks good and suits you but these are just outfits I would wear if I could 1)afford them or 2)actually find things in sales which I think is totally impossible!

Do let me know in the comments or tweet me or whatever what you've been finding in sales if anything and any new years eve outfit ideas!

Shoes-Topshop sale-£15
Lipstick-Topshop in beatnik-£6
Velvet Playsuit-Topshop sale-£20

This is probably the simplest, little bit grungy outfit and all from topshop! I love this playsuit with the mixture of velvet and lace (my two fave things) and I think it shouldn't be cluttered with jewellery or anything. The metallic flats add a lil sparkle which everyone needs on new years eve and I think they also make the outfit a bit less harsh and a little cuter! Same thing with the makeup, I would keep it really simple with dewy skin, simple eyes, plenty of highlighter, like the photo of Cara (mega babe alert!) And then a pinky/nude lip, my choice would be this one from topshop which is described as a "dirty pink" ooo.

Dress-Asos sale-£28
Lips-Topshop lip velvet-unknown
THAT DRESS. It's described as holographic which you can definitely see and the colours are so pretty. If it was cold you could so easily put a shirt under it and it would still look fab. I put this with plain black shoes, I like cut outs as they don't look as heavy but still add a toughness to the outfit, so these topshop ones are perfect! And then a deep red/burgundy lip to add a depth. I swatched the topshop lip velvets a while ago and wow, they colours are so deep, perfectly matte and the staying power was incredible, I definitely think I'll be treating myself to one.

Playsuit-Motel rocks sale-£28
Darker dress-Topshop sale-£25
Lighter dress-Asos sale-£38.50
Im in love with the silver metallic/holographic smock dress from asos, so in love I think I'm going to shed a tear. It looks so airy and light and beautiful ajdndvkjdfnkl I want it. Same with the darker topshop one, its so simple but special. And the Motel playsuit is so cute. I would pair a lighter coloured dress with a dark, messy, grungy eye look. Topshop do some great tutorials on their website to the look. BUT I'm currently watching skins online and oh my Effy. I love her. Her makeup is so perfectly imperfect I've been on the hunt for tutorials to get her look and here are the best ones I've found-

For a more everyday wearable look this one is great-

For a harsher, darker more party look this one is fab and I love this youtuber so much-
If you don't really like the smokey eye look, a dramatic eyeliner flick is just as pretty!
So that's about it, someone has asked me to do my 2013 favourites so I'll do that asap, and also i should have a new years eve ootd for you! I hope you all have an amazing new years eve and ring in 2014 with buckets of excitement for the future wooo.
Have a lovely lovely day,

OOTDs-Christmas Christmas Christmas...

How was everyone's Christmas? I hope you all had an amazing day no matter what or if you celebrate and got all you wished for and more and ate loadddds! I had such a lovely day and was so spoilt and im still struggling to move from the excessive amount of food I ate!

I've got a couple of party season/new years eve posts planned but for now here are the outfits I wore over the past few days. I feel like all I ever post is OOTDs lately so let me know what you want to see!
I hope you enjoy anyways x

I wore this on Christmas day and man I love this outfit so much! the h&m jumper is so thickly knitted and cosy and perfect length for over dresses or with my Joni jeans. This outfit just made me feel so Christmassy!

In terms of makeup I kept it pretty simple with a flick of eyeliner and glowy skin. Recently I've been feeling like I prefer my face really simple, or just with a cat eye. And plus I didn't want to have to stress about messing up my lipstick so I just kept it simple

For boxing day I dug out my old Topshop denim skater skirt and I honestly cant remember the last time I wore it! This H&M jumper is probably the best thing I've bought recently I wear it literally all the time, the colour is so beautiful! Makeup wise I pretty much did the same as boxing day minus the eyeliner and I actually tied my hair up in a high pony tail which is basically my go to at the moment.

And that's about it, what did you wear?

Hope you have a lovely lovely day

Dying my hair with Bleach London...

Exams are done, Christmas holidays are here, (partial) freedom has arrive wooo! So I thought to celebrate I would take a risk and dye my hair, and then tell you all about it!

My best friend Chloe (who has made a blog called she's an anti-socialite which you should all follow as its going to be amazing link HERE) has been using the Bleach London dyes for ages now, so she agreed to dye mine and I put my trust in her to make me fab! And my other bestie Jess was the sensible one to make sure we didn't ruin anything

Team fab (duh)

I didn't want to bleach my hair as I want it to return to normal after, and my hair isn't super light so obviously I knew the dye would have a lesser effect on my hair than on Chloe's who bleached the ends, but I was hopefully so we got to business! Awkward peach is my fave one of the bleach colours, I think its so cute and the least dramatic which is exactly what I wanted.

Obviously us both sitting in the bath was the sensible option! I wanted it quite messy so Chloe just applied it to my ends with her hands and smushed (only word to describe it) the dye on covering the bottom sections on my hair. The dye says leave it on for 15 minutes, but from experience Chloe said that's not enough so we left it on for about 45 minutes, then put some more on as it wasn't enough and left that on for about 20 more minutes. Then we simply washed it off, dried my hair and BOOM done.

It's really subtle leaving an orangy/peachy/pinky tinge to my hair which I love so much, just adds a pop of colour to my dull hair. especially as my hair has a natural ombre effect I think it looks really nice! THANKS CHLOE THANKS BLEACH LONDON!

Overall as a product I think for £5 its good as its reusable and I didn't even use a whole bottle so I can top it up whenever I want, but I would definitely recommend bleaching your hair if your hair is darker than a light blond and you wont more of a bold colour. But for a pastel tinge, this dye was perfect and now my hair is fab!

That's all for now but i'll be posting more over the next two weeks hopefully!
You should all go follow Chloe on her blog as it's going to be amaaaazing and on instagram @cmdk_

Hope you all have a lovely lovely day and a good Christmas if I don't post again before!

How to get Alexa's evil eye nails...

Oh em gee Lucy's blogging for once! oh em gee shes alive! Yeah yeah yeah I am, and I finally have something to post that isn't just me rambling about life!

I've been doing my nails like this so much lately because-
  1. Its so easy
  2. cant see the growth
  3. they match everything
  4. if Alexa is working it, I'm gonna work it too
  5. it looks rad
  • A base coat to protect your nails or whatever a base coat does
  • a black nail art pen
  • a blue (or green or any eye colour) nail varnish or nail art pen. (I use Barry M's blue moon)
  • a white nail art pen
  • a top coat (either matte or normal, up to you!)

1) First you need to get your black nail art pen and draw an eye shape on each nail, so basically two small curves that join up, or a squashed circle (an oval Lucy, oval.) don't work if it's messy as you can sort it out at the end!

2) Use your eye colour and do a little circle in the middle, I tend to do a couple coats of this so its bright!

3) Get your white nail art pen and fill in the gaps around the coloured dot. You can also use this step to tidy up your dot and eye shape (bonus!) Make sure the other colours are dry before you do this step because you don't want your colours to all mix together nooo!

4) Finally you need to grab your black pen again and do a dot in the middle of the colour for the pupil, and then draw little lines across the top of the eye for eyelashes (keep them straight and long for extra pow)

And that's it here's the finished product TA DAAA

Pretty, sassy and a lil creepy, the perfect combo!

I'm right in the middle of doing my mock exams (ew) but I'm going to try and get some posts up soon as I got some OOTDs to show you! But bare with me, I love u guys

Have a lovely lovely day
